Every now and then a product comes along that makes you say, "What a great concept." The Maxpedition MERLIN Folding Backpack is that product. You can come up with so many different uses for this bag that the ideas are practically endless. First of all, it is a Maxpedition product so you know it is high quality.
The body of the MERLIN backpack is made from tough 420-denier coated nylon fabric to take advantage of its ability to fold into a small configuration. Frontal pockets are made from 1000-denier coated nylon fabric. When completely folded its size is 8" x 5" x 4" and when open it will hold 1080 cubic inches of gear. In addition, it is capable of holding a 100 oz. hydration bladder although I have not used this bag for that purpose. When empty the bag only weighs 17.8 oz.
Potential uses:
1. Leave in your vehicle in case you need a backpack. It doesn't take up a lot of room.
2. Leave at your place of work as a Bug Out Bag!
