5.0 out of 5 stars Best Product I ever purchased., October 27, 2011

I am in love with this backpack. I use it every day while riding my bike and it is perfect size. The quality is great and it has many compartments that are very helpful. The material is strong and the straps are perfect for better security around your waist and chest. The backpack also has the extra bag that will help you to keep your items dry in case of rain. I am very but very happy with the product. I saw it at other store and it was $20.00 more expensive than what I paid for at Amazon. I recommend this backpack even for those going to school because it will not break that easily with the weight of the books. GREAT PRODUCT!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not HS Access but a 2010 HS Swerve Backback, August 6, 2012

The backpack that I received is the same backpack that is pictured as the blue velvet in this listing. The problem is that it's not a High Sierra Access backpack with the 2743 cubic size as the listing states. The backpack that I received says on the tag that it is a "High Sierra Swerve" backpack with only 2230 Cubic inches and a 2010 copyright date... that's a big size difference to me.

I am keeping because school starts in 3 days and my son needs a backpack. It really is a nice looking blue backpack and my son doesn't care about the size difference. However, it still bothers me because I thought I was paying for a larger backpack. He's in high school... last year year he needed an extra large backpack. I hope he still feels it is big enough after the first few weeks of school. Bottom line... it's significantly smaller than advertised.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, July 24, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
One of the big selling points for me was the removable pocket on one of the straps that was advertised to hold a cell phone or MP3 player. But when I saw it I could immediately see it was too tiny to hold my iPhone, and it would not have held an iPod Touch or a standard white iPod. One of the new Nanos or Shuffles, maybe, but it's been ten years since I've see anyone with a cell phone small enough to fit in that holder. So for me it's useless. There is another media pocket in the backpack itself, but you can't get to it while you're wearing the pack. I really wanted the shoulder pocket.

The straps are not padded at all at the level of your neck and shoulders, precisely the place where they need it the most. They are hard with sharp edges, and not surprisingly, very uncomfortable. The straps on my ten-year old lightweight Jansport pack are superior to these. I have no idea what the "Suspension Strap System" is for, and I have been unable to find an explanation anywhere...
