Good pack but not worth the money, December 11, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Spec-Ops T.H.E. Pack, BK - 100280101 (Misc.) I'm a fan of Spec Ops Brand for some reason, and I've had T.H.E. Pack for a while now. I purchased the pack primarily to use as a bug-out-bag. I am a civilian. The pack is smaller than I expected, and had some strange proportions. The bag is short in height, but fills out extensively in depth. I understand this is a design feature to help soldiers who are wearing helmets. As a non-soldier, I find these proportions awkward because the bag extends so far off my back it becomes difficult to turn around in hallways.
I've read reviews about the toughness of this pack. I haven't used my pack much yet, but it doesn't seem especially tough. For example, some of the stitching around the grab handle at the top of the pack is beginning to slightly rip, and I have barely even used the handle. I'm concerned about the durability of the grab handle.
In terms of quality, I've also read reviews about the precise stitching and quality of the construction. I'm no seamstress and don't have any... Read more
Tough-Rugged product, February 18, 2013 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Spec-Ops T.H.E. Pack, BK - 100280101 (Misc.) Took this camping recently
I loved all the webbing on the exterior of the bag. I could attach many things to it. (Flashlight, Leatherman, etc...)
The bag itself was a little heavy...but understandable since it is so rugged, you can haul this bag around without fearing it will tear.
Zippers are rugged, and won't jam like a lot of cheap zippers do.
This bag has a big base bottom so you can pack a ton of stuff in there and work your way up. The two exterior compartments were large too.
Few things I didn't like were that the bag pulls downward on the back so the sternum straps pull up around my neck area...not my chest where it should be. I remedied that by undoing the clips and re-adjusting them down to the next bottom level of the straps. Another thing I wish they had were more pockets.
I had a lot of little stuff like my wallet, sunglasses, keys, pens, lighters, AAA batteries etc... You get my drift. Since there were only two large... Read more
Great Bag!, November 20, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Spec-Ops T.H.E. Pack, BK - 100280101 (Misc.) Well made, holds a ton, should last a lifetime. Feels more ergonomic on your back/shoulders when compared to other packs I've owner or tried on. Made in Texas and it is guaranteed for life. MOLLE straps allow you to attach just about anything to the bag. Why buy anything else?
