Perfect size for my commute....., September 11, 2012 By zoology "bluedog" (Illinois) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Osprey Raptor 14 Daypack (Sports) Customer Video Review Length:: 2:59 Mins
3rd time is the charm!! First I ordered the women's Osprey verve 10 s/m, too small in ci and in comfort. Then I tried the Osprey raptor 10 a little bigger with better zipper access but still not right to fit all my gear. The following quick video is just an example of items you can stuff into it, and not what I usually carry but will work for this review. I find the pack quite comfortable without using the hip belt for my commute to work. As for hip belt pocket complaints of items falling out, I found that small "snap" buttons work fine, are secure and don't take up any pocket space to install, will include photo's of those. You can also use Velcro for a quick fix. I really like the pack, it is the perfect size for me, not too big or too tight, the extra pocket in the middle really makes the pack. The mesh compartments in this pocket are bigger and only having 2 works better in relation to large pocket with 1 mesh pocket and two pump pockets. I didn't... Read more

Best cycling pack, April 21, 2012 By This review is from: Osprey Raptor 14 Daypack (Sports) I have owned this pack for over 12 months, and it has been a dream to own. As a cyclist who rides their bike for general commuting (I live in the city), and roughly 1.5 hours (round trip) every Mon-Fri to and from work, the bag is the perfect size. It's not the perfect size if you're the type of person who overpacks, but it works well if you don't "need" to bring 2 jackets or something.
COMMUTING TO WORK: I can fit my shirt inside the hydration/bladder pocket (I don't need 3 litres of water to cycle to work!), while my pants, underpants, work socks, belt, and lunchbox can fit into the main compartment. I can carry deodorant, moisturizer, hair wax, and a bike multi-tool/Allen key set and puncture kit in the second compartment. There's a small "soft pocket" that holds my slim wallet, coins, keys, and Samsung Galaxy S II phone. My small, orange Kryptonite U-Lock fits perfectly into the outside pocket at the front of the bag, which is meant to hold wet gear... Read more

Good pack, nice form factor. Tough to dry out., March 16, 2011 By stag808 (Honolulu, HI United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Osprey Raptor 14 Daypack (Sports) This pack works great for day hikes and the 3L capacity ensures that you have more than enough water for the day. It's nice to have a form factor that isn't bulky and conforms to your back. The storage area can hold a light rain jacket and your lunch, but not much more. It is a bit pricey for a hydration pack and the design of the reservoir makes it extremely difficult to dry out after use. The reservoir is designed to colapse flat and the only way that I can get it to air dry is to stuff it with wadded up paper towels to hold the walls of the reservoir apart.
UPDATE - 2/20/13
The bite valvue started dripping badly where the pivot point is for the valve shutoff. I contacted Osprey's customer service department, described my problem and they immediately shipped out a replacement valvue - FREE! No questions asked about warranties or anything. Now that's customer service. You have to admire a company that stands behind its products. KUDOS TO OSPREY!
