Well constructed pack at a great price, March 10, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kelty Redtail 1800 Backpack (Sports) When I received this bag, I could not believe how well constructed it was compared to a traditional school backpack. The material is very thick and seems like it will last a long time and put up with some abuse. It also includes some nice padding on the shoulder straps and at the lower back area.
The pack offers a decent amount of room and organization. It is able to carry my 3L CamelBak reservoir, 2 winter jackets, some snacks, and the some other essentials (first aid kit, flashlight, compass, knife, etc..). The middle pocket is set up to keep a lot of these small items organized and easy to find.
The pack is comfortable to wear and fit my body well (5'10").
Overall, this is a great pack and I would recommended it.

Most comfortable daypack I have used, October 21, 2010 By Gregg of SoCal "Gregg of SoCal" (Orange County, California) - See all my reviews This review is from: Kelty Redtail 1800 Backpack (Sports) I bought this pack for a 2 week vacation in Italy. My wife and I each shipped a suitcase in baggage so we put enough stuff in the backpack to survive a day or two of lost luggage. I wore the pack every day of our vacation as we walked many miles through Rome, Pisa, Florence and Venice. I had a couple of HEAVY tour books, water bottles, umbrellas, etc in the pack and it was very comfortable to carry. After two weeks of pretty heavy use, there is not a mark on the pack, a loose thread or any other indication of wear. I expect to use it for many more trips.
