It can do both skiing and ice climbing in a nice size day pack. It fits my 122 waist 4frnt Renegades. The backing can be taken out and a 3/4 length air pad inserted for an emergency splint. The side pocket allows easy access to goodies at the bottom of the pack. The only problem is that there is not a really good place to put your shovel. But it is a minor inconvenience for a great multi-function pack.

I wanted a bag that could be versatile in every way whether I decided to pick up climbing or just do some light camping. This bag fits the bill perfectly. It's roomy enough to fit enough of the essentials (light packing). And it also expands a few more litres if you need it. The bag fits perfectly on my back, I'm 5'11". The support from the hip belts are phenomenal. This is one of the most comfortable packs I have ever used. I think Deuter will have some brand loyalty from me from now on. I also have the Deuter hydration streamer and streamer bag. Both work just as well. Awesome stuff.
