The quality appears to be very good. I find it interesting that the zipper on the front is a big metal zipper but the one on the top that isn't really visible is a plastic zipper. I don't think it's an issue since I've seen metal and plastic zippers wear out.
The colour is a little bit lighter/oranger than in the photos.

I own an L.L. Bean from the early 90's that I would like to replace, but the "retro" material of this Kelty was not soft yet durable like backpacks of yore...it was plasticky and hard, like a cheap Jansport. Not for me.
