The plastic is hard plastic and not toddler friendly. The zippers are hard to open and close, the straps are hard, no cushioning. The front pocket was sewed on with the fabric all bunched up, so it couldn't lay flat. It is so small nothing could fit in it, except maybe a lunch or something that size. It is really a joke for $55.00. I returned it immediately. Order a toddler backpack at Lands End Kids.............adorable, colorful, soft, durable, washable fabric, cushioned straps, soft finger pulls on the zippers and a little doll that travels in the pocket. Adorable. On sale for $ 15.99 ( originally $45.00) You decide.

Didn't realize the Royal Blue part meant the straps were a different color....had to send it back. Very sad for sure.

I love these bags! The only reason I returned it was because it was smaller than I expected it to be. The regular 15" bag was more appropriate for what I needed it for. The only negative thing I have to say is that I was bummed I had to pay $10 to return the item and was not refunded the total price I paid for the item, just the base price. So I spent $15 to ship something back and forth, lesson learned.
