Since I usually carry my backpacks slung over one shoulder I thought I would like to try one built around that carrying option. The other bags with similar items either were too expensive or with too small of a carrying capability. Not only is the bag and strap very good, it was the little touches that impressed me. Items can be segregated and isolated very easily with all of the built in mesh compartments and three main storage areas. Of course, the molle attachment options increased the storage capability and the variety of storage options. One nice small touch is the velcro retainer on the strap that attaches the padded carry strap to the bag - once it is adjusted to size it is easy to neatly store the unused portion of strap out of the way but ready for use if needed. If you do not need the waist belt it also stores neatly and conveniently away. The pack itself, and all straps, seem securely sewn on and I would not expect any to loosen up or fail. I recently purchased this backpack with the intention of using it on an upcoming European trip. The sling bag I have been using was starting to fall apart and was actually quite small for my purposes. This bag seemed like I would have everything I needed (bigger size without being too big, more zippered compartments, and more inner compartments).
The construction of this bag is top notch. All of the stitching is well done and there are no rough seams. As far as storage goes, I recently used it on a trip and was able to put so much stuff in the bag that I was more limited by how heavy the bag was than I was by available space. I honestly think that you could put a weeks worth of clothes and other items in this bag with no problem. Another feature that I like is the ability to change which side that the shoulder strap goes. I waited awhile before doing a review, December 28, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Condor Outdoor Ambidextrous Sling Bag Backpack #140 (Black) (Misc.) So far the bag has held up very nicely with no problems and i have owned it for about 4 months or so having daily use. Also used it for going to disney with the family. Bag has so many pockets and hidden the security at Disney looked over it real quick and let it through. I could have easily had a large size handgun in a compartment and no one would have ever known. So two points to that, first if your responsible for doing bag checks be aware of whats out there and be complete in your searches. Second this bag fits the function for the type of environment it is intended for and I like it for off duty use or when needing a bag to use while teaching.
